Helping the Children in Afghanistan:
Thanks for the Vitamins: the Outreach Committee shipped two very full boxes of children's vitamins to Afghanistan after our recent vitamin collection. The boxes were sent to an identified U.S. service member stationed in Kabul. Either the Medical Team or the Volunteer Community Relations Team will hand them out to mothers at the refugee camps in Kabul. Both teams visit the camps to provide some health care and food to the families who have left their villages and come into Kabul looking for work and for protection from the war's fighting.
The Outreach Committee will organize a school supply collection in the fall for children in remote areas of Afghanistan near multi-national military bases
